Australian Conference of Economists 2026
ACE 2026 is hosted by the ACT Branch of the Economic Society of Australia and will be held from Tuesday 7July through to Friday 10 July 2026 at the University of Canberra.
This is a call for submission of extended abstracts or full papers. Papers on any aspect of applied or theoretical economics are welcome. We welcome submissions from any country.
The conference themes are: global economic challenges and the role of governments; climate and social change and the undermining of trust.
The submission deadline is Friday 17 April 2026 (5pm Australian Eastern Time). Please submit submissions through Oxford Abstracts.
The selection of papers will be finalised by Friday 8 May 2026.

Keywords
During your submission you will be asked to enter up to 3 – 5 keywords that will help the program committee to allocate your paper to the relevant themed session (eg Australia, Spending, Policy, Education).
All authors who have their submission accepted for presentation must register and pay for their attendance, at a minimum, for the day of the Conference on which they are presenting. Accepted presenters will be given access to early bird discounted registration rates.
Oral Presentation (30 minutes):
Each accepted presentation will be allocated 20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes for questions and discussion.
Lightning Presentation (7 minutes):
Each accepted presentation will be allocated 7 minutes and have a maximum of 7 slides.
Poster Presentation (A0 Portrait):
Posters are to be displayed for the duration of the conference. Poster boards and fixings will be supplied.
Posters are to be portrait format and AO size.
There will be the opportunity to stand with your poster at Monday and Wednesday lunch breaks, making yourself available for discussion with delegates. We suggest you/delegates first get some lunch, then poster discussion can take place in the second half of the lunch break.

Your PowerPoint slides (PDF Format) will be posted on the Conference website post-conference if you give permission for us to do so. During the abstract submission process, you will be asked to tick a box to provide this permission. If you change your mind, to provide permission or remove permission, please contact lucy@leishman-assoicates.com.au by the end of the conference, 9 July.

Your participation implies consent to potentially being filmed and your image or likeness being used in such materials. Special ACE 2026 Conference Issue of the Economic Record
A Special Conference Issue of the ‘Economic Record’ comprising selected submissions presented at ACE 2026 will be published.
The Economic Record now provides free-form submissions.

Please indicate in the cover letter that the paper is for consideration for the Special Issue. The submissions are due 7 August 2026.
